Fitness Fellowship 2023: Week 14 Check-in
Hey, everybody, I hope the week has been a good one for you or, if not, that it has at least not totally sucked. ;-)
Please share your ups and downs with us here, and remember that you can check-in whenever you'd like.
Well, I definitely gained weight while on break, which lasts two more days (we go back on Wednesday). That's largely down to the mass quantities of baked goods we consumed while on vacation. So Many Baked Goods. (Not vegan, either, but I made an exception for them because they were delicious.)
To counter the vast quantities of pastries, etc., we did a LOT of hiking each day of our trip, and a good portion of that was up and down, so I definitely got my cardio fix in too. Since getting back on Thursday, I've made it a point to get a long walk in each day as well, so even though there has been a weight gain, I'm okay with it. The sweets from the trip are almost gone, and once they are, they won't be replaced.
My plan starting Wednesday is to go back to a genuinely calorie-restricted diet (1400 calories a day) and continue with at least 30 minutes or more of focused exercise each day as well. I'll continue hydrating (which I've been very good about) and will also work on resuming a work-friendly sleep schedule, as I've definitely reverted to my night owl ways during break.
Meditation is still something I'm trying to get into a regular habit of doing. I do tend to pray when I'm walking alone in the woods, and that has some of the same qualities as meditation, but I'd like to establish actual time set aside for meditating. I don't know why I have such a block about it, but I am determined to get over it.
So, those are my plans for the week starting Wednesday.
Here's wishing you the week you'd most like to have.

Goals for last week:
- Do not do things related to my environmental organization (or to work) after 9 pm, or 8 pm if I can.
YES, this is great.
- Turn off computer at 10 pm every day.
YES, this is great. I don't even feel any resistance to these first two goals, they just feel good.
- Go to bed and turn out the light at 11 pm every day.
This one is harder, because I always want to keep reading, but I'm doing good.
- Keep to my food goals.
Food was fine.
- Go out in the woods every day, even if just a short walk.
Yes, except Tuesday when I was a bit swamped.
- Go running three times (if I don't go hiking on the weekend, otherwise adjust this).
Twice, and then I went hiking on Saturday-Sunday.
- Do workouts on six days (if I don't go hiking on the weekend, otherwise adjust this).
Four days (did not work out on hiking days).
