Fitness Fellowship 2023: Week 45 Check-in

Friends, as always, please be kind to yourself. If you're up to it, please share how your fitness journey has gone/is going. If you're not up to it, that's quite alright.



I'm down .6 from last week, at 208.6, which means I've lost 12 pounds since starting the intermittent fasting. I'm quite pleased with that progress and am enjoying the feeling of wellness that comes of eating healthier, eating less, exercising regularly, and trying to get regular, good sleep. I'm also hydrating, mostly green tea at work these days, and do occasional breathing exercises and regular (daily) prayer.

My cold is finally waning, thankfully. I have just the remnants of a catch in the throat that sometimes makes me cough. Otherwise, I am feeling much better. Yay!

The week ahead will be more of the same until Friday, when we leave for the long weekend, which is also my birthday weekend (the 10th). We are going someplace with a famous vegetarian restaurant, so there will be eating of good things and probably cake as well. :-) But, too, the area we are heading is famous for good hiking, so weather permitting there will be much rambling through November woods. I am so looking forward to our little trip!

As for my ongoing health situation, I am still waiting to be contacted by the doctor to which my doctor has referred me for a second opinion, but in the days in between, I've come to a sense that I'm going to be okay. I still have spikes of anxiety, but I am mostly okay at the moment. I know this could/will probably change when I have had the appointment and heard what I will hear, but for now, I am feeling fairly equanimous about it all.

I've had a number of disrupted weeks because of my birthday, half-term-break, a tonne of grading, stressing over a speech I had to deliver at my cousin's wedding etc. I had hoped to get back into a better routine this week but I now have a cold which means I feel too crappy to exercise. As soon as I'm stronger, I'm going to focus on fasting and exercising.
