Fitness Fellowship: Week Ten
Hello, Friends, and welcome to another week of fitness and friendship here at the fellowship!
Please do share your triumphs and not-so-greats with us here and let us know what your plans are for the week ahead.
As always, you can join at any time, and if you don't want to share, you're still welcome to leave encouraging words in the comments. We can use all the help you're willing to offer. :-)
So, the good news is that I finally got around to meditating--twice!--and it was pretty okay. In neither case did I make it, so to speak, to my sacred spaces, but I had some fun anyway and got some pretty cool dreams out of the experiences after-the-fact. (I meditated before I fell asleep at night.)
Food-wise, I did okay. Sleep has been okay until Daylight Savings Time kicked in yesterday, and now I'm all out of sorts. I HATE DST. My circadian rhythms are particularly susceptible to changes like this, and as a consequence, I've been super-sleepy all day despite getting seven hours of sleep last night. *sighs*
As for the bad, I did not exercise even once this past week. I don't know why. I mean, it's been cold and yucky out, but I DO have the means of exercising indoors. I just...didn't. No excuses.
For the week ahead, I'm going to try to get at least three days' exercise and continue with the eating,
sleeping, and meditating as planned. We'll see how it goes.
Have a fantabulously fit week!
Peace,
SW

Meditation is going well, food consumption is iffy. But the exposure to chemistry is going to take me at least a week to recover from.
Glad you're getting some meditation in. Hope it continues to be helpful, in whatever way you want it to be.

Thank you so much for the kind words about meditation. I'd really like to get back to my "happy place(s)"/sacred space(s), but I think I've been out of it long enough that I need to build up the meditation muscles, so to speak. Anyway, working on breathing and focus is good in its own way, and you can't beat that sort of weightless-but-not-vertiginous feeling. Or I can't. :-)

I'm on holiday in the mountains, which means: (1) I have gotten three days of cardiovascular exercise on hard-for-me red slopes and my legs feel like I'm about to die, but I'm proud of this season's more-competent-than-usual skiing; (2) meditation has actually been good -- nothing like a Japanese onsen with a view of softly falling snow to put one in the mood; (3) I have been so hungry at the end of every day and the start of every morning I have been eating every carb in sight; plus drinking the extremely good and inexpensive sake. I've been having a lovely time, and feel fitter than I've been for ages, so I guess the food choices haven't been as bad as they could have been...

I hope you're having a wonderful vacation. It sounds like it was just the break you needed, and heck, eat whatever you want if you're skiing like a fiend! Lol! Enjoy!
