In my brain, the entire Buffy cast is still locked in place the way they were then. I mean, after all, Buffy just went off the air about five years ago, right? Right?! My brain just doesn't process time anymore.
When my husband first told me, I couldn't actually process it for a second, like my brain skipped like the needle on a scratched record. It feels unreal. I mean, I hadn't given Nicholas Brendon much thought in years, beyond the occasional (usually unfavorable) news item, but that *Xander* is dead? That's just not possible. Man, what is time, anyway? And how do we just go back in it, so we can wallow in what were, relatively speaking, simpler days??? Ugh.
Me, too! I understand that his legacy is problematic both as an actor and in the character of Xander, but I was such a fan of the show back in the day, and I still quote lines from it. I used Cordelia’s “What’s your childhood trauma?” this past week, in fact. Anyway, yes on the nostalgia, for sure.

Date: Saturday, 21 March 2026 03:43 am (UTC)I just watched a clip with Xander and Dawn and it wasn’t until the end that I remembered we lost Michelle Trachtenberg too. Too young, too soon.
