Where has the season gone? I can hardly believe we're almost halfway through August!

How has the past week treated you? Please do share your fitness ups and downs with us. You know we're here to listen and never to judge.

Weight: I had to laugh. The whole week when I was getting up daily to teach my half-day course, the number stuck on the scale. Saturday morning, it had plunged back down almost to where it had been before the freak uptick. If that isn't proof that work isn't good for me, I don't know what is! Lol! Anyway, today, I'm down almost two pounds from last Monday's weigh-in. Yay!

Exercise: I'm continuing daily yoga, regular light weights and some cardio workouts, walking outdoors when it's not a sauna out there and indoors on the elliptical or in just walking in front of the TV otherwise. I've pretty much stuck to doing at least one full hour of exercise daily.

Eating plan: I'm still snacking on sunflower seeds most nights, but I'm hoping to kick that habit when the school year starts. I'll also see a reduction in daily calories because the structure of the work day imposes that. When I'm at home, it's so easy to cook a bigger meal than what I'd eat for lunch at work. I'm just better disciplined within the strictures of my teaching schedule. But I've been good about not splurging besides the sunflower seed habit.

Hydration: Yes.

Meditation: Yoga and some breathing exercises outside of that as well.

Sleep: I had a good week of getting to bed at a reasonable hour for work, and then the weekend rolled around and T. wasn't home. I don't sleep well when he's away, so I'm dealing with a sleep deficit right now. I hope it will improve soon.

Here's hoping the week is a good one for you!

My weekly average hit a low for the year last week so yay for that. But I'm back up yesterday and today and almost certainly tomorrow because I went on a carb binge today after being in stress mode in the morning.

Congratulations on such a successful week! I hope you can catch up on your sleep and have this week feel even better.

I'm still dragging, but I'm getting back on track with sleep, and I managed to eat three times a day every day this week, even if I really didn't want to because it was so hot. Having some fresh fruit around really helped on that front.

Ooh, I've never had homegrown cantaloupe before, but I can just imagine how much better it must taste! We haven't had much of a stone fruit season here this year - extreme weather led to a shortage in the part of the province they're usually sourced from - but I've been plowing through blackberries, raspberries, and now some good local strawberries. I'm going to miss them when autumn comes, but I'm looking forward to mushroom season.

I had a great week, exercise-wise! My sister and I worked out together a lot, and also I went swimming in the lake most days (not great distances, but still), and did physical labor in the garden and the woodshed. I can't weigh myself here at the summer place, though, and I'm suspicious that I might be gaining weight.

So my goals for this week are to keep up the exercise and physical labor and think about what I eat.

I was 74.2 kgs when I weighed myself this morning which is about the heaviest that I have ever been. I blame it on holiday eating. I couldn't exactly go to the Black Forest in Germany and not eat black forest cake :)

S and I have been talking a lot about fasting as a weight loss strategy. Both of us need to lose about 10-15 pounds and doing it together means we can hopefully support each other. We want to build up to a 36hr fast, which seems terrifyingly exciting! I've fasted for about 24hrs by missing breakfast and lunch but never gone to bed without having eaten all day. But we do like a challenge and having a specific goal like that feels like a tangible thing to aim for so we'll see.
