Greetings from the frigid north, my friends! It's cold enough that the light, powdery snow makes a loud crunch with every step, but despite that cold, I have gone out in it twice for brief walks over the past two days. The key is layers!
I hope wherever you are you've had a chance to get some exercise, whatever form you most enjoy, and if you haven't been able to get your body moving, I hope you are, at least, feeling strong and well.
Weight: 210.6, down .8 from last week.
Exercise: There haven't been any long walks because it has been too cold to be outside for any length of time, but, as I noted above, I did tromp through the snow a bit yesterday and today. I have gotten steps at work every day and also done some walking indoors. I did yoga four times, too. The big triumph this week was reintegrating light weights into my routine. I lifted light weights three times this week!
Eating plan: I'm still experimenting with the WW points system to figure out what's best to eat to fill me up and not go over my daily quota. I'm also still enjoying a splurge meal on the weekend. I have been eating a LOT more fruits and veggies, as well as beans, brown rice, oats, etc. I feel very good about the clean eating aspect of my diet and am mostly not hungry, either, which has been great. Overall, I'm consuming smaller amounts and food that is typically better for me. Yay!
Sleep: I've been pretty good about getting to bed on time during the work week and on being off-screen before bed.
Hydration: Two nights last week I experienced serious leg cramps, which was what let me know that I wasn't drinking enough. My classroom has been quite cold--the heat works only some of the time, and I'm on a corner that gets the wind--and drinking cold fluids when I'm cold is not something I'm good about. However, the leg cramps were no joke, and once I started making a point to drink a lot more water, they disappeared, so lesson learned. (I do have an electric kettle at work, but I don't often have time to get water, heat it up, fix tea, etc. I *can*, I just don't. I should try to be better about that, too.)
Meditation: On my walk yesterday, I did some mindfulness work and focused breathing. I've also been trying to use the savasana portion of my yoga practice to actually clear my mind and concentrate on my breathing, which is what I'm supposed to be doing during it anyway.
I'm sending you healthy vibes for the week ahead, my friends!
