March is almost over. It's going out like a lamb here, but I'm sure it's quite lion-like for others. Once again, my mind turns toward how much effect the weather has on my energy level and ability to exercise in the form(s) I most prefer. I hope that wherever you are in the world, the weather is giving you reasons to get out and enjoy it, if that's your preference.
Please share as much or as little of your fitness experience for the week that has just passed. As you know, there will be no judgement, only gentle encouragement here.
Weight: Ugh. 209. That's another 1.6 since last week. It's not entirely unexpected (see below), but I do wish it weren't so stark.
Exercise (Days done/days pledged): Yoga, 4/4; Weights 5/3; walking, elliptical, 7/7. I didn't get a jog in this week; my schedule and the weather both conspired against me. Here's hoping this week gives me better chances!
I am excited that Garmin Connect has added a premium plan. I've used the free plan that came with my fitness watch for years, and I really like earning badges for various fitness activities and accumulating points. It might seem silly, but it totally motivates me. Now, they have a reasonably priced premium plan with a one-month free trial period. The plan offers a lot more opportunities to earn badges and points AND comes with workout vids and a host of other things. I've been using Fiton since last week and have liked it, but if I can get what I need from Garmin, which I already use anyway, I don't need to pay for upgrades with the free Fiton. I'm going to give it another week or two before I make any investment choices, but so far, I'm enjoying the many added features Garmin Connect+ offers.
Eating plan: Here's why I gained weight. Despite being pretty good for much of the week, I kind of just...relaxed too much? Lol!...over the weekend. I have to go back to a splurge *MEAL* rather than using "It's the weekend!" as an excuse to eat whatever I want.
Sleep: It's been okay. I'm still sometimes having trouble falling and/or staying asleep--and I definitely got to bed too late last night--but I'm generally in bed on time and off-screen beforehand (except on weekends).
Hydration: Pretty solid.
Meditation: Yes, I did some mindful breathing, boxing of the breath, etc.
The week ahead: More of the same but less of the eating!
Here's hoping the week ahead gives us ample opportunity to be fit!
