Fitness Fellowship 2025: Check-in 44
Nov. 3rd, 2025 04:01 pmGreetings, inimitable fellow travelers!
How has the past week been for you in terms of your fitness goals (or any others, for that matter)? I hope it's been easy on you and that you've found moments of joy along the way.
Weight: 201.8, down .6 from last week, for a total loss of 10.6 pounds since 1 September. I'm happy with that loss because it's more in line with what I was expecting and planning, and sometimes I get superstitious when I have too many big loss weeks.
Exercise: I did yoga four times, strength-training three, and walked every day. I got an especially high number of steps on Saturday, and yesterday I both jogged and walked, which was awesome!
I'm especially proud of myself this week because I spent a good portion of it suffering from an immune response to the pneumonia vaccine I had on 10/23. I had to take over-the-counter allergy meds for the first time in my life, and not surprisingly, given my body's rejection of even totally normal medicines, I did not enjoy the experience. So, go me for exercising even though my head was all weird and floaty and I was freakin' exhausted pretty much constantly. (I'm happy to say the reaction has mostly resolved and is, at least, a lot less painful than it was.)
Eating plan: I've been focusing on clean eating, lots of whole foods, limited processed food (and what I do eat on the relatively healthier end of the processed spectrum), portion control, etc. I'm not starving myself, and I'm not having cravings, which is fantastic.
Hydration: This always gets tricky with the colder weather, but I'm on it! My body definitely lets me know when I haven't had enough water.
Meditation: Yes, at least twice or maybe three times (?).
Sleep: I got more than my usual sleep because the meds and the immune reaction both kicked my butt. Last night is a different story, though, thanks to the time change. I hate Daylight Savings Time and the return to standard time as well. I am not made for this kind of change! Hmph!
The week ahead: More of the same, minus the unfortunate immune reaction, thank you very much!
Here's hoping the week ahead is a good one for all of us!

Yes ...
Date: Monday, 3 November 2025 10:49 pm (UTC)Recently:
* I cleared off the daffodil bed and covered it with 2 bags of compost and manure.
* I cleared off the tulip bed and spread 3 bags there. It needs one more, which was today's plan to finish, but...
Today:
My air plants came! :D 3q3q3q!!! So today I've been scampering around the house and yard to gather materials. I've gotten as far as figuring out where a few of the plants will go, and trying to stick on extra chips to create more pockets for them. I think I need a rubbery craft glue rather than the wood glue I started with, though. But progress! Hopefully I'll get this set of pictures posted later.
And tomorrow is the November Poetry Fishbowl with a theme of "Fairies and Fey" which means I'll be at the computer most of the day.
... I'll get that last bag on the tulips eventually, and then I need to cover both beds with leaf mulch.

Date: Tuesday, 4 November 2025 09:49 pm (UTC)I am sending you all the protective vibes I can spare, my friend. If your classroom is anything like mine these days, you're treated to a cacophony of snot-sucking and hacking every period. Big, big, big *hugs*!

I got a really cute set, and with 10 I can try different ones inside the lantern -- I expect to have extras.

It is open here. So far I've got the first freebie posted, and there will be another later because of a new prompter:
