Hello, fellow fitness folks! I hope you're keeping warm (or cool) and well wherever you are. The weather has somewhat moderated here in my part of the world, but it won't last. Still, I'll take my chances to get outdoors while I've got them.

As usual, please share how you've been doing with your goals, big and/or small. I hope you've got successes to report, but if you don't, please know that you'll get nothing but support from me.

Weight: 194.4, up .6 from last week. This is not a surprise (see below, re: eating plan).

Exercise: I did yoga 4/4, strength-training 3/3, and got meaningful steps in every day, mostly on the elliptical. We did get out to mall-walk on Friday, and we actually walked outside for over an hour yesterday (Sunday) at the Falls. It was cold but absolutely stunningly beautiful.

Eating plan: I've been comfort eating, and while I haven't been eating too much of anything, I have been indulging in too many takeout meals, for example, with a predictable result. You know, though, despite the weight gain, I feel pretty okay about it because I did eat in moderation even with Thai food, for example, which has often, in the past, been a stumbling point for me in terms of portion sizes, etc. So, I'm taking it as an overall win, even if the short-term result is a slight gain.

Meditation: Yes! I meditated 3/2. :-)

Hydration: Yes.

Sleep: I've been good about getting to bed on time during school nights, but my snow day/weekend nights have been less than reasonable, with the predictable result that my sleep schedule during the work week also gets thrown off. *sighs*

The week ahead: More regular sleep, less takeout food.

Have a good week, be kind to yourself, find joy where you can, and enjoy the quiet moments when they come to you.

Still snowy here, but less cold. It's not back to where I can really go around doing yardwork outside, but at least going out to feed the birds is no longer miserable.

We did get out for shopping and errands recently, which was quite productive.

Tomorrow will be mostly sedentary as that's the Poetry Fishbowl, with a theme of "Books and Literacy."

I've done nothing but I'm trying to get a water aerobics thing started at work

Haven't commented in some posts, but I'm mostly good! A few days ago I got something in my throat, which is just lurking there instead of turning into an actual cold or flu. I hope it will go away soon; meanwhile I am not exercising and trying to sleep a lot.

Before that, I was doing fairly well with exercising. Doing well with sleep and weight, too. It is COLD outside for southern Sweden, not perhaps in actual temperature (a few degrees below zero, Celsius), but in how consistently it stays that way. Usually it will freeze, then thaw, etc. I think I'm getting a lot of things done, but my to-do list still proliferates, and some things on it have lingered there for a long time. *sigh*

I'm just happy it's not subzero at night anymore.

Last week was chaotic because we had bad flooding. Our area of the country made front page news. It was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Pretty scary and unsettling. The weather has been crazy. Anyway, so I didn't make it to any exercise classes in the week, but I did go to a yoga/stretch class on Saturday that I really enjoyed. Even though I felt really stiff the next day. I did pilates today, and I am adamant to go to the gym tomorrow and do strength training.

We've added a sourdough starter to our little ferment collection that already contains kefir and kombucha. I've made wholewheat sourdough bread twice. I haven't found it easy, but after reading about 100 blogs about sourdough, I'm sure I'll perfect it next time! :D My attempts at sourdough pizza have been mixed too. I'm enjoying it though. I like dough - the feel of it, the unpredictable nature of it. And kneading it for 15 minutes is like a full-on upper body workout!
