Whew! We're almost there! Time has moved so strangely for me this year. It doesn't feel like any time at all has passed, yet here we are with only a handful of days left.

I'll save the retrospective questions for next week. For now, as usual, please do share how your week has gone, fitness-wise and/or otherwise. We're here to listen, cheerlead, and not judge. :-)

Weight: 194.6, which is 2.4 pounds down from last week and 17.8 pounds total from 1 September.

Exercise: I strength-trained four times out of three pledged, yoga four times out of four pledged, and walked every day except for the ones when I was cleaning, in which case, I got exercise but not walking.

Eating plan: I'm not starving myself, which is a good thing. (I had a problematic relationship with food in middle school, and for my whole life, when I diet, I flirt with getting obsessive about what I eat, how much I eat, when I eat, etc.) I'm eating mostly whole foods, with some processed stuff too, but healthier options. I'm a serious label-reader, so I watch what goes into my body where that's concerned. I do eat dessert almost every day, but I think I'm just much more conscientious about portion sizes and snacking between meals and all that stuff.

Meditation: Yes.

Hydration: So. Much. Water.

Sleep: Ha! So, I'm on my winter break at the moment, and the first two nights, I was up until 2:00am because I discovered a videogame that I *adore*. (It's Stardew Valley, in case you were wondering. I am a decade late to the party, and I don't care.) Last night, I made myself go to bed at 1:00am. Tonight, I'm going to walk that back again. I cannot go full night-owl on my two-week break, or my first two weeks back at school will be a nightmare, pun intended.

The week ahead: I'm making all the carbs for Xmas dinner. It's just T. and me, and we LOVE pasta, but I haven't been eating or making it lately, so I said we'd have pasta, sauce, garlic bread, and salad for the evening meal. We're visiting friends for the afternoon on Christmas Day, having coffee and pie, and I also have a vegan apple-cranberry pie for Xmas dinner dessert. So, there's a diet Armageddon. But, we were originally slated to travel after Xmas day, and we've had to cancel because both our cat-sitter and backup cat-sitter fell through, and you know what? I'm okay with that. I'm *so* tired. So, we're going to do day trips and staycation stuff, and that's awesome. I'm expecting there will be some eating, as well, but also lots of walking too. It's a trade-off. My goal for the holiday week is to maintain my current weight, but if I gain a bit back, I'm okay with that too.

I hope the holidays have been going and/or do go easy on you, friends!

>>I'm making all the carbs for Xmas dinner.<<

Today I made rosemary-lemon evergreen tree cookies.

Our plan for Christmas dinner is to heat up a pomegranate lamb shank with mashed potatoes on the side. Leftover mashed potatoes will get turned into cheesy bacon potato soup for the next night. :D

Let's see, the second really big holiday market got snowed out this year. :( We did get to the Otto center again, though, and picked up a couple things there. We got to the big mall in Champaign. Can't remember if I already mentioned Tuscola, but I walked around taking pictures there.

I've also been doing yardwork. I've carried some logs up to the patio rack. Today I worked on reducing the brushpile in the driveway. We're hoping to work more on that this week too.

I spotted a new kind of holiday light display -- this one is in an evergreen forest that you can walk through, then afterwards there are games and hot chocolate available. If the weather is bearable, I'd like to explore that.

By the way, I've been posting a lot over on [community profile] goals_on_dw and encouraging other folks to promote their year-end or goal-related stuff too. Might you be interested in posting about the Fitness Fellowship?

I know what you mean about being tired. I'm really glad we don't have to travel either. I've got my two cousins (a brother and sister) and cousin-in-law coming tomorrow. The three of them will stay until Saturday. We've also got our two best friends (and their two little boys) coming on boxing day who will also spend the night. The seven of us adults are all really close. There will be a lot of carousing!

We all like to cook and are foodie people. I started cooking today. I've made vegetarian sausage rolls, mushroom & pine nut stuffing balls, and the vegan gravy. S and the girl-cousin are both vegetarians (lapsed vegans). The whole house smells like sage, rosemary and thyme. We will also have a mushroom & beetroot wellington, roast potatoes, Christmas carrots flavoured with star anise, Yorkshire puddings (my favourite!), broccoli & cauliflower in cheese sauce, and of course Brussel sprouts! I'm also making a Christmas cheesecake flavoured with cinnamon and cardamom.

Enjoy the diet Armageddon!
