Friends, March is the longest month in history, and last night/this morning we got a whole bunch of snow, and the winter blahs have taken hold fiercely, and no amount of D3 supplements is going to help. *sighs*

That said, exercise DOES help, so I've been focused on making sure I do it, even as I'm falling into some comfort-eating habits that make exercise *necessary* if I want to not have to buy new clothes. *sighs harder*

I hope you all are hanging in there, my friends. As usual in this space, please feel free to share the ups and downs of trying to be fit.

Weight: I'm up .4 pounds this week, which isn't really a surprise. I tend to turn my Friday night splurge "meal" into a splurge weekend of leftovers, which is what I'm doing today, too. Anyway, I'm good for four full days and then sort of lose focus for three, and this isn't a way to lose weight. I might maintain it this way, but I really do need to drop at least, say, 10 pounds, if I want to fit into my summer workout clothes. So...

Exercise: The new elliptical series is a lot more challenging than all of last year's workouts, but I'm getting through them, though not as quickly as I'd hoped. The ankle is giving me a lot of pain, unfortunately, and the only way to heal it is to stay off of it, which is impossible at work and unlikely at home because I want to continue on the elliptical. I guess this means I really do need to start wearing my medical brace again, which is bulky and complicated but gets the job of supporting the tendon done. *sighs*

Eating plan: See above, re: weight. I really have been doing well on weekdays/nights. It's just Friday night through Sunday midday when I let go. And even then, I'm not actually bingeing. Seriously, I feel like regular folks eat like this all the time and don't gain weight, but I can't seem to enjoy, say, healthy-ish Chinese food (i.e. broccoli with garlic sauce--I mean, I'm a freakin' vegan is all I'm saying) without putting on the pounds. It's frustrating.

Sleep: I wish. I mostly get to bed on time, but my sleep is disrupted repeatedly during the night by night sweats. By Friday, I'm the walking dead. The only time I get enough sleep is weekends, when I can sleep in in the morning to make up for the disruptions.

Meditation: I did actually try a walking meditation once this week (maybe Sunday--can't remember) and it was great. Here's me, week 10, saying I need to meditate regularly. UGH!

Next week: Who the fuck knows? Lol! Seriously, I'm just so fucking done right now. ;-)

Sending you sunshine, energy, and time to rest and recharge.

I'm sorry to hear the night sweats are giving you such a tough time. I just read an article in the New Scientist that was stressing the importance of getting enough sleep in relation to managing your weight. I really need to sleep better. My goal this week is to be in bed by ten. I hope you have a better week ahead.
