Fitness Fellowship 2026: Check-in 12
Mar. 23rd, 2026 11:48 amHappy Spring or Fall (depending on your spot on the globe)! I hope the season's change means good things for you.
Around here, we have freezing temperatures and snow flurries in the forecast, my backyard is underwater from the weekend's rain, and the few spring peepers in the pond out back sound disconsolate.
Still, we are moving forward, as always. What progress have you made this week, if any? Has holding your ground been enough? Are you struggling? Please do share your triumphs and struggles with us here. We never judge.
Weight: Exactly the same as last week. I'll take it!
Exercise: Yoga 4/4, strength-training 3/3, purposeful steps every day. (Yesterday, it was the elliptical because of the steady, soaking rains.)
Eating plan: I've been good about not splurging on the weekend, and yesterday I made a big pot of "beef" stew, loaded with potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms, and corn, and including some plants-based meat for a treat. I'm pleased to report it's very good.
Hydration: Yes!
Meditation: No! I still experience a certain mental block where meditation is concerned, but I *will* return to my practice of at least twice a week.
Sleep: Ahhahahhhaahhhahaa...I stayed up ridiculously late Saturday into Sunday, and that has borked my sleeping pattern. I'm a fool. *sighs*
The week ahead: Go to bed, you goofball. Also, meditate!
I hope the week ahead brings you just the weather that best suits you!

Date: Tuesday, 24 March 2026 01:33 am (UTC)Yesterday went from 87F to 57F in an hour, then further dropped just below freezing overnight. A friend mentioned "weather whiplash" which I find a very useful term.
Today: assorted gardening tasks, and we measured the parking lot in hopes of ordering gravel.
Sunday: hauling bags of garden materials and topping up pots.
Saturday: topping up pots.
Friday: assorted gardening, including sowing the first peas, carrots, and lettuce.
Thursday: assorted gardening, including checking out the areas tended by the stump grinder.
Wednesday: ass-busting amounts of effort to unearth as much of the sidewalk edge as possible so the stump grinder guy could see it.
Tuesday: Bonus Fishbowl, so I spent most of that day indoors.
Future plans: lots more garden tasks. I also want to visit either the food forest or the lake this week.
Re: Thoughts
Date: Tuesday, 24 March 2026 12:45 pm (UTC)We aren't yet to the planting anything stage, which is fine since my yard is not really reachable at the moment, unless I want to slosh around in my farmer boots. And also, we're still getting deep freezes. *sighs* But someday--SOMEDAY!--it will be springish here. ;-)
Anyway, good luck with this week's tasks!
