I am sorry this is a day late! I completely forgot. That just shows you how easy it is to get out of a good habit. If only bad habits were so easy to shake!

If you are so inclined, please share how your fitness journey has been for the past two weeks (or just this past week, if that's easier/your preference). We're here to share our fitness ups and downs, and I'm looking forward to reestablishing the habit of doing this weekly on SUNday.

Our week in Nova Scotia was amazing, full stop. We got so many good walks/hikes in, saw so many fascinating plants and animals and so many breathtaking vistas that it is hard to find the words. The trips there and back, however, were extremely exhausting, stressful, and, in one case, terrifying.

From a diet and exercise perspective, I could have done worse. I did end up eating things (and too much of things) I shouldn't--potato chips, baked goods, plant-based ice cream--but I also got a lot of exercise, except for a couple of the travel days when that wasn't possible. Also, other than a couple of nights when I snacked on sunflower seeds, I did keep to my no-eating window.

When I got on the scale last Monday night--the night we got home--I was at 223.4, which was staggering and meant that I'd somehow gained over 8 pounds in 12 days. However, as of this past Saturday morning, I was down to 215, so not only did I lose the vacation weight but also just a tiny bit more. I'm attributing that to having gotten right back to Intermittent Fasting and, of course, healthier meals with fewer baked goods. ;-)

Today, I'm up a little because I had quite a splurge day on Saturday and am working my way back down from that.

Weight aside, I am faithfully exercising, doing breathing/meditation exercises, sleeping, and hydrating, and I did all of those things as best I could while on vacation too.

All in all, "It could've been worse" is a satisfactory outcome for a fantastic vacation and its aftermath, I think.

The week ahead: I'm already back on the Intermittent Fasting wagon and plan to continue with daily exercise, regular hydration, a good sleep schedule, and breathing/meditation exercises.

I'm sending you good wishes for the week ahead, my friends.

Ha! I literally posted my end-of-month wrap-up with "It could be worse".

I must get walking again on a regular basis. I think that's the biggest thing that is missing. I can't believe I'm just wasting summer this way. When the weather turns, I'll be kicking myself for not enjoying the warmth while I could.

I'm at my brother's with his pool. on an unrelated note water aerobics lead you into a false sense of self confidence and now everything hurts.

so glad you had a great vacation

So glad you trip was good! \o/ Even though the logistics were terrible.

Week 29: I spent that week either traveling (trains, buses...) or hiking in the mountains, so fitness-wise, I think it was good!

Week 30: Same here, I either traveled or was out in the forest the whole day. I was at a forest survey camp, where we looked at threatened forests that were suspected to have high conservation value, and catalogued rare species in them. So lots of walking, anyway!

Week 31: This week I don't think I'll set any goals! It's the family get-together week and I have enough with getting though that. My ordinary workouts and my running will return when I'm back home and on a regular schedule...

YAY for family get-togethers that are NOT fraught with tension (I think it was your post I read about this?)
Ha ha, not exactly! Mine unfortunately has tension...

I'm glad you can give yourself a break without feeling guilty--that is SUPER healthy!
Thanks! : ) I guess I just figure that it's a necessary thing.
