Greetings, friends!

Ready to look back over the past week and consider your fitness? Me neither! LoL! But, here we are. :-)

As always, please share as much or as little as you're comfortable with regarding your fitness goals (or anything else, for that matter--we're easy around here).

Weight: This morning, the scale said I was up quite a bit, but Saturday AM it was excellent, and I didn't eat *that* much on the weekend, so I'm going to call it a fluke and hope for the best. (I didn't get much sleep last night, and I have noticed that the more sleep I get, the less I weigh the next morning. Coincidence? I don't know.)

Exercise: I exercised every day and did yoga four times this past week.

Eating plan: I mean, I guess I'm doing okay? I've been eating less at dinner and fewer sweets overall, but then I've found myself hungry before bed and ended up snacking on popcorn, which isn't the worst snack--lots of fiber--but it's messing with my fasting window. I'm just trying not to GAIN anything over the holidays, and I'll tackle the plan for actually losing weight when I get to the new year.

Hydration: I've been good about this.

Sleep: I didn't follow my own rules about screens last night and had difficulty falling asleep and then a really hard time staying asleep too. I know better--I do! But the ebook I was reading was so good! Lol!

The week ahead: Less snacking, more exercise, better sleep.

I hope you have a good week, my friends. I especially hope you find both peace of mind and rest when and where you most need them.

If only standing in line was as much exercise as your body feels like it is. I'd be in great shape this weekend if it was

I spent half of Galaxycon standing in a line. One day I'll get a step tracker because I think I walked 10 miles in that exhibit hall

Congratulations on the daily exercise - and I hear you, sometimes a good book can't be resisted!

The week was on the rougher side here. I really have to wrangle my sleep back in order, as it's had the knock-on effect of messing with my exercise and appetite the next day. I'm likewise aiming for more exercise and better sleep this week.

Fasting was good for me last week. Sleep was good. Exercise was bad.

I say fasting was good but actually I think I over-fasted. I missed too many meals throughout the week, and when I did eat, I tended to crave meat and The Bad Carbs (fries and white bread). I ate both red meat and chicken last week, which is fine because I'm not trying to be vegetarian and I feel it's okay for me to eat meat occasionally, but only occasionally because I am trying to be mainly plant-based.

I like to watch shows or listen to podcasts that inspire me and keep me focused. Last week I watched Michael Pollan's Cooked documentary. There was this clip at the end of the 'Water' episode where he read a section from his book. He described cooking as an act of resistance against the infiltration of commercialized interests in our lives. It really struck a chord with me, the idea of taking a stand against the way Big Food companies sell us this idea that it's too hard to cook and we're too busy to do it, so just eat this industrialized, ultra-processed crap that's going to make you sick and addicted to bad food. I thought Fuck yeah and as an act of resistance went into the kitchen and baked a loaf of seed bread :D :D

I see folks do these "links to more information within site" and I have no idea how you do it!

Fitness keeping track: how cool. I use a pedometer to try to measure what I do a lot of the time. It's been nice taking it easy for a minute.
