Fitness Fellowship 2025: Check-in 36
Sep. 8th, 2025 04:41 pmGreetings, fitness friends and welcome to another week!
I hope it's been a good one for you, full of opportunities to meet your personal goals, whatever those may be. As always, please do share with us your ups and downs, and don't be afraid to shift gears and change goals if you need to. We're here to listen, not to judge.
Weight: I am down .6 from last week, which meets my goal of losing .5 per week until 1 January. So far, so good.
Exercise: I did yoga 4/4 pledged days, lifted 3/3 pledged days (but for longer sessions than usual), and walked every day.
Eating plan: I was mostly very good about portion control and sweets, though I did have several nights when I snacked on something light--popcorn or sunflower seeds.
Hydration: Yes!
Meditation: Very little--some boxed breathing last night but otherwise none. I've been having some anxiety around a health issue, and that makes me leery about meditating in the evening, which is when I usually do it. I plan to get back to it this week, for sure, anxiety be damned.
Sleep: I've been good about this, so much so that even on the weekends, I have been going to bed "on time" and waking up earlier than is usual for me when I have time off.
The week ahead: More of the same, minus some of the snacking, I hope.
May the week ahead be better than the one you've left behind!

Date: Tuesday, 9 September 2025 02:46 am (UTC)I over-ate terribly over the weekend, and am now resolving to get my eating habits under control. This is so hard, why? (I find it much easier to exercise regularly than to eat less. My body just wants to snack allllll the time. /o\)

Date: Tuesday, 9 September 2025 08:50 pm (UTC)I am SO much the same, re: exercise vs. eating. Exercising? Yes, I can do that! Eating moderately? Not so much! Lol! I'm glad I'm not alone in this, and I hope we both figure out a way to get better at the moderation thing.

Date: Tuesday, 9 September 2025 09:12 pm (UTC)I made it to pilates today even though it was a massive rush to get there after a meeting I had at school. Work will not stop me from doing exercise this year!! That's my mantra right now. WORK LESS HARD. I need to fit in a 45min weights session to meet my exercise goal of 90mins this week (and maybe a 1hr session of badminton with S on Saturday if he doesn't go and watch Spinal Tap II at the cinema with his brother). I'm back into the routine of fasting and only drinking black coffee until lunchtime. But I've also missed lunch a couple of times too, which is not good. I feel so flat and dehydrated by the end of the day if I haven't eaten anything.

Date: Wednesday, 10 September 2025 01:21 pm (UTC)WOOOOOO-hooooooo! for making it to Pilates! That's *AWESOME*! Go, you! (Seriously, with all the hands grabbing at our time and the fractured attention and the exhaustion, making time for exercise can be so, so difficult. It's an accomplishment!) I LOVE your mantra, and I hope it helps you to find a little more work-life balance.
YAY for a return to fasting, but boo for missing meals. I hope you're able to prevent that, too, though I know it's not always up to you.
I'm sending you ALL the good vibes for a strong week, my friend! *hugs*

Date: Tuesday, 16 September 2025 11:48 pm (UTC)I've actually been (mostly) behaving myself even though that is not reflected in the scales. I'm blaming sleep-deprivation. I've heard that can mess up your metabolism. I am adjusting to the new early mornings, so it's not as bad as it was. It's just going to take a little while yet.
