Fitness Fellowship 2022: Week 9 Check-in
Mar. 5th, 2022 11:21 amFriends, if you're making progress or holding the line or have even backed off your original fitness goals for 2022, please know that your response is the correct one, no matter what it has been. This is... *gestures at world*
Please don't make this fellowship another pressure point in your life, BUT, if you'd like or if it's something that helps you, please feel free to share how you're doing, fitness-wise or in any other way. We're here to listen and not to judge.
Weight: There was some frustrating lack of progress, mid-week, but yesterday morning's weight was down 1.2 from the week before, and that has made me feel a little better about things. Also, my work pants are just a little less snug than they were last week, so I'll take it.
Exercise: I've been tired after work lately and haven't had time at work to get in stairs and steps, BUT, I've made it a point to exercise every night, including elliptical workouts and workouts on the recumbent bike. The month of March has brought a new iFit elliptical challenge that requires me to do workouts at the intermediate level instead of the beginner level I was at all last year. I was worried that I couldn't handle them, but so far, I have been doing well. My ankle is still giving me trouble, but it's not as bad, and I'm taking precautions to prevent further injury and steps to help it heal. Fingers crossed that this doesn't turn into a months-long saga.
Eating plan: I have been SO GOOD about not having nighttime snacks, and for whatever reason, it hasn't been as difficult as I'd thought it would be to give them up. May that continue.
Meditation: Nope, but I have been praying and visualizing more.
Sleep: I'm getting to bed on time. The quality of my sleep is still not great (peri-menopause sucks), but I'm doing my best. Also, I've started taking a supplement that seems to be reducing the severity and frequency of the hot flashes and night sweats. We'll see if that continues to be the case or if it's just the placebo effect.
The week ahead: I'm going to stay the course and hope to see a gradual decline in my weight.
Be kind to yourself this week. Remember to breathe if you can. *hugs*

Date: Tuesday, 8 March 2022 06:58 pm (UTC)I had a catastrophe of a week last week. It started badly, got worse, and eventually ended in me just giving up entirely. I had a re-set on Sunday and am being very virtuous this week. Onwards and upwards. Good luck with sleeping better. I often find that to be a cornerstone (that, and the siren song of white wine when I'm feeling low).
