Fitness Fellowship 2026: Check-in 21
May. 25th, 2026 06:36 pmOur weather here is finally seasonal in terms of the temperature, though we've had a great deal more rain than is normal for this time of year. I've been able to get out into the yard and gardens for two days in a row, and it never ceases to amaze me how many muscles are sore after two days of work. No matter how much walking, lifting, and yoga I do, I guess I still don't concentrate enough on the bending, hauling, lugging, and kneeling muscles. :-)
I hope you've had a successful week and have some happy news to report, but even if it was a difficult week full of frustrating challenges, please do share how you're doing with us. As always, there's no judgement here, only support and encouragement.
Weight: I was at 194.4 this morning, but I'm trying not to let it stress me out. I haven't been off-track much, but I have been having larger portions at dinner sometimes, and I suspect that's what I'm seeing on the scale.
Exercise: Yoga 4/4, strength-training 3/3, walking every day and two days of yardwork and gardening.
Eating plan: I didn't really have a splurge day this week, but as I mentioned, I have been eating somewhat larger portions of dinner on some, but not all, nights. Even so, I haven't been over my calories once and haven't eaten through my "extra" exercise calories except on one day. I've also been avoiding snacking at night and have been good about my sweets intake.
Hydration: Yes! (So much hydrating now that it's gotten warmer!)
Meditation: 1/2. *sighs* I flat out forgot to do it last night.
Sleep: I've been pretty good about this all week, even going to bed early last night despite having today off. All the gardening has tired me out.
The week ahead: I'm going to keep a closer eye on portion size and see if that helps any. It's possible the scale number is an anomaly. I've been eating well, and that's not going to change.
