Fitness Fellowship 2023: Week 9 Check-in
Mar. 5th, 2023 08:19 pmHello, Friends! How has the week been for you? Have you been hanging in there, making strides, falling behind? Whatever the case is with your fitness journey, please share a little news with us. We're here to listen and not to judge.
After last week's update, I had a weight spike--more than two pounds gained--but I'm pleased to say that I've lost about a half-pound since last Sunday, so that spike just evaporated after a couple of days of re-regulating my system to the work week.
I've caught T's cold, but it's not as severe for me as it was for him, which I credit to using zinc, elderberry, Zicam swabs, etc., to help stave off the cold to begin with and then drinking lots of gingery tea, drinking lots of fluids, and get as much rest as I can.
I was well enough to walk outside both days of this weekend, which has been cool but not uncomfortable. We had sunshine yesterday, which was especially nice. I've also been trying to work out every day, though I did not on Friday simply because I was wiped out from being sick and working an extra-long day.
I have been getting good sleep, drinking enough, and still not meditating. And I've been trying to eat well, with mostly positive results.
All in all, I'm feeling pretty good about my progress. If nothing else, I can tell my body is benefitting from the exercise, as is my mood.
Here's hoping the week ahead holds whatever you most need to have a good one!

Date: Monday, 6 March 2023 05:19 pm (UTC)I forgot to weight a week ago I think. But either way I was down a pound yesterday when I weighed. Still not biking daily due to the tailbone but getting a few days a week in so I’m not going to complain. I figured something is better than nothing.
Stress and energy aren’t great but they NEVER are for me. I know that’s not necessarily GOOD but it’s not anything I’m not used to. My energy was pretty low yesterday so changed the sheets on my bed, turned the mattress, and watered my succulents and then begged off of moderating a twitch stream. There’s other people that can do that but no one else here to take care of household things.

Date: Monday, 6 March 2023 05:35 pm (UTC)As for me, I knew my week would be stressful, and it was. Another stressful week to go, and then things will calm down! I hope.
- Try to cut down on activities/commitments which are not necessary, to minimize stress.
There were of course many things I could not cut down on, but I did OK with this.
- Go to bed and turn out the light at 11 pm every day. (Although I have already failed at this on Monday, when I got an upsetting e-mail that I stayed up to reply to and only got to bed at 11.40.)
There was one more day when I stayed up too late, but on other days I went to bed on time. Still slept worse than during an ordinary week, but not terribly so.
- Keep to my food goals.
Yes.
- Go out in the woods every day except Monday, even if just a short walk.
Yes, except for Sunday, which I should also have excepted (I had an activity all day).
- Go running three times.
Yes.
- Do workouts on five days.
Yes.

She seems to be recovering, though the nursing home itself is now up to 14 resident cases and five staff cases. *sighs*. I spoke with her on the phone on Saturday, and she seemed in good spirits mostly. I think she's going to be in the clear in a day or two.
