Howdy, friends!

How has your week been, fitness-wise and otherwise? I hope it's been a good one for you, for however you value the word "good."

Please do share your ups and downs here and any plans you have for the week ahead.

My weight is up a little since last week, but I attribute that to the fact that I have had to temporarily suspend the intermittent fasting. I've been diagnosed with a UTI and am on an antibiotic that needs to be taken with food every eight hours. "With food," in this case, can mean a handful of crackers or something, not a whole meal, thankfully, but even so, it's thrown me off. Thankfully, I haven't had the most common side effects of this antibiotic (nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea), and hopefully, it does the trick.

Unfortunately, this UTI was discovered while in pursuit of the cause of a different health thing, for which I'm going in for tests on Friday. Fingers crossed they don't show anything out of the ordinary or, if they do, it's something benign and remediable. *sighs*

Given my white-coat syndrome, I think it's pretty amazing that I haven't done any comfort eating, and I'm proud of myself for that. I have tried to stay hydrated as much as possible, especially as that's helpful with a UTI, and I've been exercising every day. Sleep has been disrupted both because of frequent urination (UTI + drinking more = more waking up in the middle of the night) and because I have to stay up later to accommodate the final day's dose of antibiotic. A couple of nights this past week (during which I was getting up in the AM because I was teaching a workshop), I fell asleep waiting for my meds time. Lol! Thankfully, I woke up in time to take it and haul my sad butt to bed.

Anyway, I am doing the best I can and am pretty proud of myself for not comfort-eating and for staying active. I've also done quite a bit of mindful breathing (mostly "boxing the breath," if you're familiar with that one), partly to help ease my anxiety about doctor's appointments and tests and partly because it helps me center in any case.

My plan for the week ahead is to return to intermittent fasting on Thursday--last dose is in the AM, and then I can go back to my regularly scheduled eating window. YAY! Continue hydrating, return to a better sleep schedule, keep up the mindful breathing, and, of course, exercise.

I'm sending you all the energy you need to use for whatever you'd most enjoy.
