Greetings, Friends!

I hope the week behind us has been a good one for you, fitness-wise and otherwise. As usual, if you're feeling like it, please share how the week has gone for you. We're here to listen and not to judge.

I weighed in at 206.6, for a total loss of 14 pounds for the year so far. I put this all down to the intermittent fasting and the daily exercise. (Turns out the "experts" have been right all along--diet and exercise. Huh. ;-)

I have a cold blooming today--sore throat, stuff nose, headache--but have tested negative for C-19. This feels much like the cold I only got over a few weeks ago, and I am disheartened about being sick again. I think it's my new classroom, which does not have the air filtration system my old one did. This room is supposed to have built-in air filtering, but the HVAC system was broken for weeks and has only been working intermittently since midweek last week.

So, I'm going to get myself a desktop personal filtration unit to see if that helps.

Otherwise, I'm going to do my best to get exercise every day (health permitting), eat right, sleep (I slept SO long last night), and meditate/breathe for relaxation and mindfulness. The usual. :-)

I'm sending you good vibes for the week we're in!

I got a cold Tuesday evening, and have been trying to rest since! At least it's not covid. So we are in the same boat...

Yes, do get lots of sleep for your cold, it's the best thing for it, I think!

could be worse?

I gained a lot of weight in 2022 and the goal for 2023 was to get that back off, but this year has just been up and down and I think I'm on track to end the year pretty much exactly where I started. It's discouraging. But I'm moving soon! After the move I'm going to have access to a fitness center and a significant source of my stress will be removed just from no longer being in this apartment.

I do wish I could learn some sort of copying mechanism for stress that does not involve junk food. Because I know that this year will not be the last stressful year of my life. But removing at least one major source of that stress will help.

So I'm heading into 2024 cautiously optimistic.

Thanks! (And yeah my roommate bought me a bagel sandwich for breakfast today. I'm incapable of saying no when food is offered.)

Sorry to hear you're feeling unwell. I hope it clears quickly.

The last couple of weeks have been a little chaotic and stressful for me. I've had a mountain of mock exams to mark and other big jobs to do. Everything else has suffered as a result. I worked both Saturday and Sunday and am now a bit more on top of it all. Hopefully this week will be better. I'm going to Pilates tonight and plan to fast tomorrow and maybe Friday.
