March has been pretty unforgiving so far, at least on the weather front, though I have nothing at all to complain about compared to those poor people in Alabama. Still, it's cold, snowy, windy, and just all-around unfriendly out there. *sighs*

That said, I had a pretty okay week on the fitness end of things. I'll put my report in the cut, as usual.

How have you been doing? Have you had any triumphs? Setbacks? Do you feel pretty good about the goals you've set?

As always, feel free to join in at any time. All comments are welcome!

Food. I did pretty well this week, although we were gifted with half of a genuine New Orleans king cake on Friday, and though it wasn't vegan, I had some because I'm an unabashed fan of NCIS: New Orleans, and I've always wanted to try the real deal. As this one came from a bakery in New Orleans, I had a little fannish squee about it. It was very tasty, though a little too sweet for me.

Exercise. I exercised three out of the seven days, instead of the four I'd set as my goal. I really thought I'd done better than that, but alas, no.

Meditation. I did try one night. I started the breathing and then my brain wandered off. (I was in bed at the time, and I think I fell asleep after that.) I'll try again this week but NOT in bed.

Sleep. My sleep's been broken up a lot lately. I'm pretty sure it's hormonal, at least in part. (My period is due this week, and thanks to peri-menopause, I usually have a few days of sleep troubles before it arrives.) I haven't been having my most usual problem of not falling asleep, which is an improvement, as far as I'm concerned, but I do wish I didn't wake up quite so often in the middle of the night. I'm so tired right now, though, with a LOOOOONG day at work and a lot of stress, too, that I think tonight will be an exception. Otherwise, I've been making a point of being consistent with bedtimes, so that's not an issue.

For the week ahead: Keep to my eating plan (no more king cake ;-); exercise four days for at least 20 minutes each session; meditate once; keep up with the good sleep habits.

I hope the week ahead is a good one for you, friends!
