Another week down, friends! How has it been for you? Please share triumphs and tragedies, minor inconveniences and major incentives--whatever you'd like to tell us about how this fitness quest is going for you.

Every year, Daylight Savings Time kicks my ass, and this year is no exception. After that positive weigh-in last week, I started this past week having gained 3.5 pounds literally overnight, which I attribute to the time change messing with my rhythms.

Sleep was hard to come by; it was the final week of the marking period, which is always stressful; I had several extracurricular obligations in the afternoons/evenings; and the tendonitis in my left wrist played up something fierce.

These are all true and also in part excuses because there was also much snacking to supplement my otherwise healthy eating.

The one good thing in the whole mess is that I maintained my exercise regimen, and I have noticed I am feeling fitter for that, even if I haven't any weight loss to show for it.

My plan for this week is to keep at the exercise and lay off the snacking, regardless of how stressful and/or upsetting the week is, and to try to hydrate, get enough sleep, and meditate.

Here's wishing you a very good week, my friends!

Marking is the pits, right. I've done over 20hrs of mock-exam grading since last Sunday. I feel like my eyes are bleeding. Luckily we had 2 strike days this week so I worked a lot of hours (for no pay) and got the majority of it done at home. I also managed to get in a couple of long walks during the week, which was rejuvenating.
I went up to London over the weekend (with a bag full of grading to do on the train) and saw an opera called Akhenaten. It was *astoundingly* good, so it feels like my soul has been fed too. It was also really nice to do a long walk through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. I'm SO glad I no longer live in the city though. Cities are generally awful places in my opinion, except for the art and culture, which I do miss.

It's good you're keeping up with the exercise! Honestly, whatever you lose weight for it or not, I think that keeping active is a great way to just feel better and have a clearer mind to make better decisions on other things like food.

As for me, Samsung Health says I walked about 70k steps last week, which isn't a lot for me. I've also been snacking *a lot* recently, which has me feeling like garbage afterwards both mentally and physically. I think my stress response went from skipping meals up overeating, and I can now confidently say both suck at making me feel any better... :( I'm putting this week to rest and hoping the coming one will be better.

I feel like there’s a big difference between my scale and the clinic scales. The one at the clinic said I gained two pounds Friday but the. When I weighed at home Sunday it said I lost a pound last week. I’m going with mine since it’s the one I always weigh on but yeah.

Other than that mental health has been pretty bad after a shining moment of determination and hope because I forgot about so many factors in a plan that I had that I was way out of my league

Good work maintaining your exercise regimen! And good luck with your goals for this week. <3

Work is much calmer now, but I have some stress around my volunteer engagements. It's the annual meeting of my environmental organization this weekend, plus I'm working on a grant application, sigh.

- I would like to spend some time reading on the couch, so that is a goal.
I did spend some time on the couch, but I would like more, please.
- Go to bed and turn out the light at 11 pm every day. 11 pm SHARP.
Yes, that's going well. I did sleep badly one night--too much spinning in my head.
- Keep to my food goals.
Yes.
- Go out in the woods every day except Monday and Friday, even if just a short walk.
Also not on Thursday, when I was tired. But I did the other days.
- Go running two times.
Yes.
- Do workouts on five days, and start doing some of the new ones again.
Also not on Thursday, when I was tired. But I did the other days and I did do some of the new ones.

Next week:
- More reading on the couch.
- Go to bed and turn out the light at 11 pm every day. 11 pm SHARP.
- Keep to my food goals.
- Go out in the woods every day, even if just a short walk.
- Go running three times.
- Do workouts on six days.
