Fintess Fellowship 2023: Week 19 Check-in
May. 14th, 2023 04:13 pmI don't know about you folks, but I need a do-over for this week, fitness-wise. I hope the week was a better one for you than it was for me. :-)
As usual, if you're feeling up to it, please share how your week has gone and what plans you may have for the week ahead. And, as is always true, this is a strict no-judgement zone.
I'm back up to my highest weight since 2020 again, 219 pounds, and that is entirely because I have been out of control with the comfort eating. If I could stop looking at food as a reward, as something to look forward to to get me through a difficult time, I'd probably weigh less.
I am sleeping as best I can (I had an anxiety attack one night, which definitely threw me off the good sleep schedule I'd managed), hydrating fairly well, and definitely exercising--I make that a priority every day, without fail. It's on my very short list of the two personal things I must do every day--write and walk. I thought a lot about meditating, and I had a plan for it, but that got scotched by something very upsetting happening to me that made it difficult to do.
So, again, I'm getting a TON of exercise, pretty good sleep and hydration. I just need to regulate my food intake.
Today, I've made a point of cooking a big pot of healthy veggie, brown rice, and red bean mix I use in burritos or eat over greens. I can get several meals out of that this coming week, and that should help. I also cut up strawberries and mixed them with blueberries to take for lunch and to eat as dessert over a little vanilla frozen oatmilk.
I'm taking steps to get back on track, but I'm not pushing myself either. I'm not in a place mentally where I can necessarily make better habits stick right now. But I will get there. I will.
Wishing you the best week ahead, friends, full of opportunities to feel your best, whatever that means for you.

Date: Monday, 15 May 2023 07:37 pm (UTC)Last week was not bad for me, just a week where I fell down on working on fitness goals. Which is fine, that happens! As mentioned, all my tabs disappeared and I forgot to comment on last post. Also, on Tuesday I went to the family summer place with my parents--which is a wonderful place to be and I feel blessed to be able to do distance working from there for two weeks! It's surrounded by woods and pastures and there's a lake. But for some reason it's mentally harder for me to work out/go running there. OTOH, I probably do more physical work there, and I definitely take walks. I did some backsliding around bedtimes as well.
But today on Monday I managed to go running and work out, go me!
Okay, let's try again for this week:
- Do not do things related to my environmental organization (or to work) after 9 pm, or 8 pm if I can.
- Turn off computer at 10 pm every day.
- Go to bed and turn out the light at 11 pm every day.
- Go running three times.
- Do workouts (OR do sustained physical work such as sawing/chopping wood) on six days.
(I can skip the goal about going out in the woods, since the house is right in the woods and it's enough just to go out the door!)
