Fitness Fellowship 2024: Week 18 Check-in
May. 6th, 2024 04:07 pmIt's early May, and I am so tired, but I have weeks yet to go before I am finally done with the latest group of students and can rest for a bit before the next batch arrives in my classroom. I'm not complaining about having a summer break, mind you. Mostly, I'm reflecting on how the apple barrel just gets emptier and emptier.
How has the week been for you, friends? Have you had successes, draws, or failures? Please share what you will with us here. No judgement!
Weight: I'm using yesterday's weigh-in because today's HAS to be a fluke. 202.6, down a bit from last week. I actually saw a number below 200 pounds this week, but that did not survive the Chinese food we had for our splurge meal on Saturday (and leftovers Sunday).
Exercise: Every day, yes! Intervals, yes. Weights, no. Incline...one day of the two, I think. I was sick much of last week, which manifested largely as fatigue, so I didn't have much energy beyond getting in basic exercise each day. I was pleased to manage that much, however.
Eating plan: Still fasting, with very few exceptions, from 8pm to 10am each day. Most of my meals are homemade and healthy, with the exception of the aforementioned Chinese food, which was still good choices (tofu and veg, garlic broccoli) but apparently not great for the waistline. (I suspect it's the astronomical salt content doing me in.)
Meditation: YES! I am enjoying breathing and mental mantras. I used some breathing exercises while proctoring an exam today, for example. Really, you can fit them in in so many places.
Hydration: Still making and consuming large quantities of iced ginger root tisane. This latest batch is SPICY. I'm enjoying it!
The week ahead will be more of the same.
I'm wishing you all the good vibes and positive energy I can spare, my friends. May the week ahead be a good one for you.

Date: Thursday, 9 May 2024 05:32 pm (UTC)Also my stomach muscles are still hurting from a killer Pilates session on Tuesday, so I feel like I've done a few good things this week - which was the goal.
The ginger tisane sounds delicious. We've just brewed a lovely batch of kombucha with ginger and orange.

Oooo, ginger-orange is always a lovely taste combo. I usually make my tisane with lemon or lime juice, but now I'm wondering if I could do orange. I'll have to investigate if it!
