My apologies for being late with this post again. I have been in a cleaning frenzy trying to get the house ready for my friend who is cat- and house-sitting for us while we are away next week.

I hope you've had a good week, my friends, and that you'll share your progress with us in the comments here.

Weight: I gained a BUNCH and then LOST it all over the past couple of days of cleaning, so I'm exactly where I was on the scale last week. I'll take it because there were some questionable food choices over the weekend, and I expected the scale to reflect those errors in judgment.

Eating plan: See above, re: bad choices. I kept to my eating window for the most part, but I had richer and more considerable desserts, and we also ordered Chinese takeout, so I could focus on exam-grading last week. The consequences were predictable, and I'm lucky I had enough activity to counteract the weight gain.

Exercise: Every day, yes. Weights, yes. Incline, yes. Intervals...maybe yes? (I think so). There has been no dearth of activity in this house. So. Much. Cleaning.

Meditation: I have definitely been doing some mindful breathing this week.

Hydration: I have been very good about getting at least 48 ounces every day.

Sleep: A-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Lol! I'm on summer break, so while I am usually getting enough sleep, I am not necessarily getting to bed at the same time every night nor getting up at the same time the next morning. I hope to regulate this somewhat once we're home from our vacation, but for now, I'm just...*flails*

The plan for the week ahead: We're going to be doing lots of walking and hiking, so there will be plenty of exercise, but there will also likely be some local baked goods. I am planning to stick to my eating window and to avoid snacking between meals. I'm hoping to avoid the 7-pound gain I saw during last year's Nova Scotia trip. We've rented a cabin, so I'll have a kitchen and will be preparing most of our meals instead of getting takeout or going out to eat, so I should be able to control intake to some extent. Baked goods and snacks on vacation are my weaknesses, however, so we'll have to see. My hope is for some balance of exercise and eating.

May your week be full of those little joys that make this "one wild and precious life" so worth living.
