Fitness Fellowship 2025: Check-in 31
Aug. 4th, 2025 05:50 pmWelcome back to another week of the Fitness Fellowship!
Here's the place to check in for the week that was. How did you do, goals-wise or otherwise? Did you have any challenges? Little victories? Happy accidents? Whatever the case, please know that you are always welcome to share your ups and downs with us.
Weight: I'm using yesterday's number because today's was wonky, thanks to my having to get up much earlier for a workshop I'm teaching each day this week. Anyway, I was still up from the week before, largely because of that precipitous, illness-related weight drop. I'm not sure I "earned" a gain, frankly, but it is what it is.
Exercise: I did manage to do yoga four times out of four pledged, and I lifted at least five times, but I had fewer steps early in the week because my body was still being tetchy, and I didn't have a lot of energy for extra exercise. By the end of the week, I was feeling much better, and we went on a vigorous three-mile hike on Saturday. (There were a LOT of stairs on this hike. A LOT.) I remarked to T. on an uphill section of the trail (I swear, it felt like it was all uphill, though that's impossible) that I must be feeling better because there I was, horsing it.
Eating plan: I didn't have an appetite early in the week, a fact I seem to have made up for later in the week, though I didn't eat anything especially unhealthy, nor did I snack much in the evenings. (Again, I feel like I didn't "earn" a gain, so I'm hopeful that it's one of those weird body things.)
Hydration: Yes, especially when I was still feeling poorly.
Meditation: Yes!
Sleep: My quality of sleep has been disrupted by internal factors (back-to-school anxiety dreams have started *sighs*) and external (the white noise machine I use was spontaneously shutting itself off, which would wake me up). I can't do much about the dreams, but we replaced the batteries in the sound machine, and it seems fine now.
The week ahead: The usual: Exercise, eat well, drink lots of water, meditate, and get good sleep.
May the week to come be gentle on you, my friends.

Date: Tuesday, 5 August 2025 07:26 am (UTC)I had a pretty good week. I saw my parents at my nephew's birthday party and my mom couldn't stop raving about how good I looked, and she loved what I was wearing, and all that sort of thing. She said she was very proud of how I had gotten my health under control.
I have a long way to go, but that felt very good to hear!
