Fitness Fellowship 2023: Week 10 Check-in
Mar. 12th, 2023 08:17 pmHello, fellow fitness adventurers!
I hope this week has been a good one for you. Please share your experiences with us here and let us know what your goals for the week(s) ahead might be.
I lost .8 pounds this week, which made me happy. I attribute the weight loss not so much to a stricter diet but to doing my best to get exercise every day and to making sure my meals during the week are healthy, with lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc.
I've been pretty good about hydration, I did a little bit of a breathing meditation once this week (boxing the breaths and trying to let my mind rise above and away from conscious thought), and though I definitely didn't get to sleep at a reasonable hour last night (made even more unreasonable by daylight savings time in the wee hours), I've mostly been good about getting enough sleep. That said, DST usually takes it out of me, and I'm expecting at least a week of disrupted sleep and/or not enough of it. *sighs*
For the week ahead, I'm going to continue with the healthy eating, getting enough exercise, hydrating, trying to sleep, and will attempt meditation at least once.
Same old, same old. :-)
May the week bring you only what you can handle and nothing more.

Date: Tuesday, 14 March 2023 06:18 pm (UTC)I hate the start of DST too; it always really throws me. I love spring and we live in such a lovely area that's surrounded by trees and fields but the too-early dawn chorus waking me up before my alarm goes off annoys the hell out of me at the start of spring. Damn birds!
I managed a walk on Sunday and today, so that's good. Mostly eating well. Still drinking wine. Same old, same old.

Date: Tuesday, 14 March 2023 07:12 pm (UTC)- Try to cut down on activities/commitments which are not necessary, to minimize stress.
Did not go to the 8th of March demonstration, but I did unfortunately get caught up in public transport disruptions around it instead, sigh.
- Go to bed and turn out the light at 11 pm every day.
Somewhat backsliding on this, though not much--more like, turning the light out at 11.15 rather than 11 sharp.
- Keep to my food goals.
Did a little comfort eating of sweets due to stress, but no great quantities, and they were GOOD sweets, so that's fine.
- Go out in the woods every day except Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, even if just a short walk.
Yes, except for Friday when I was too tired.
- Go running two times.
There was snow, so no running.
- Do workouts on four days.
Only three. I went back to my old workout all three times--that was easier when I was stressed out.
This week:
- I would like to spend some time reading on the couch, so that is a goal.
- Go to bed and turn out the light at 11 pm every day. 11 pm SHARP.
- Keep to my food goals.
- Go out in the woods every day except Monday and Friday, even if just a short walk.
- Go running two times.
- Do workouts on five days, and start doing some of the new ones again.
